Being built 1000 years ago, it is considered Norway’s most important meeting-house, where coronation process is still present and thousands of tourists come from all over the world. The Nidaros Cathedral or “Nidarosdomen” in Norwegian is an imposing medieval cathedral built in 1070 as the final resting place of King Olaf II of Norway, who was killed in 1030 in the Battle of Stiklestad. King Olaf was canonized as Saint Olaf a year later by the bishop of Nidaros (which was later confirmed by the pope).
